Welcome to the Kaufman Kourier – Q3 of 2024 edition! This quarter has been filled with exciting events and meaningful connections that have driven both personal and professional growth at Kaufman Container. From attending major trade shows like HubSpot INBOUND and the ADI Craft Spirits Expo to showcasing our unique decorating capabilities at the NACD Fall Expo, we’ve been busy expanding our industry influence and keeping our finger on the pulse of packaging innovation. We also celebrated internally, hosting inspiring guests and fostering team connections at our annual company picnic. As we continue to grow, these experiences strengthen our dedication to providing top-tier solutions and nurturing our talented team.

Event Recaps: Trade Shows, Internal Inspiration, and Annual Picnic

Trade Show Attendance: HubSpot INBOUND 2024 and ADI Craft Spirits Expo

This year, Kaufman Container's marketing department had the privilege of attending two notable events: HubSpot INBOUND 2024 in Boston, MA, and the ADI Craft Spirits Expo in Baltimore, MD. Our participation at HubSpot INBOUND gave us a deeper dive into the capabilities of our CRM platform, providing fresh insights into enhancing customer engagement and streamlining our marketing strategies. Meanwhile, the Craft Spirits Expo allowed us to strengthen our presence in the spirits market, forge valuable industry connections, and explore innovative packaging trends tailored to this fast-growing sector.

These events play a critical role in keeping Kaufman Container at the forefront of the industry by exposing our team to emerging technologies and fostering relationships with key industry players. The insights gained will allow us to deliver even greater value to our clients across various markets.

We were excited to exhibit at the NACD Fall Expo for the second year in a row. This year, we highlighted our extensive in-house decorating capabilities, which continue to set us apart as a 3rd-party decorator for suppliers and distributors. Attendees had the opportunity to explore our booth and learn more about our services, including screen printing, pressure-sensitive labeling, and in-mold labeling.

To add a bit of fun, we raffled off a BLACK+DECKER Cocktail Maker Machine, with Tracy from Empire Emco emerging as the lucky winner. Events like this allow us to connect with peers, share knowledge, and further establish Kaufman Container as a trusted partner in the packaging industry.

Barnes Wendling Summer 2024 Interns – Nurturing the Future of Accounting

At the end of the summer, we had the pleasure of welcoming Barnes Wendling Summer Interns to Kaufman Container. During their visit, they toured our facility and spent time with our accounting department, where they gained hands-on exposure to real-world accounting operations. The energy and curiosity of these young professionals were inspiring, and we were thrilled to be part of their learning journey. Untitled design - 2024-07-30T135911.568

At Kaufman Container, we believe in nurturing the next generation of professionals, and it was a joy to see these future leaders engaged with our team. Their enthusiasm reaffirmed our commitment to mentorship and developing talent. We hope they left with a deeper understanding of the industry and look forward to seeing their future successes.

Bernard Seid’s 1990 “Man of the Year” Award Speech

In 1990, Bernard Seid, the original CEO of Kaufman Container, delivered an inspiring "Man of the Year" award speech that remains an important part of our company’s history. Bernard, who led Kaufman to great success, was also the president of the National Association of Container Distributors (NACD) from 1965 to 1967. In recognition of his lasting impact, the NACD Best of Show awards were renamed the "Bernard M. Seid Awards," also known affectionately as "The Bernies." This recognition symbolizes his lasting influence and the standard of excellence he set for the entire packaging community. His commitment to innovation, excellence, and integrity remains a guiding light for Kaufman Container and the entire industry.

Bernard’s legacy at Kaufman Container lives on, not only through the awards that bear his name but also through his granddaughter, Sara Blankenship, who is currently the president of the company.

A Successful Annual Company Picnic – Connections Outside the Office

The 2024 Kaufman Container company picnic, held at Kennedy Park in Brookpark, was a resounding success. Untitled design (8)With delicious BBQ from Winking Lizard and ice cream treats from East Coast Custard, our team enjoyed a well-deserved day of relaxation, fun, and camaraderie. The day’s activities included Bingo, Bocce Ball, and Cornhole, offering a perfect blend of competition and team bonding.

Events like these are a reminder of the importance of fostering a positive company culture. They give our team the opportunity to unwind, connect, and strengthen relationships outside of the work environment. As always, it was a day to remember, and we look forward to next year’s picnic!

Celon Shrink Bands for Industrial & Medical Gas Market – An Eco-Friendly Innovation

At Kaufman Container, we’re always on the lookout for sustainable solutions, and our plastic-free, eco-friendly Celon shrink bands are a prime example. These shrink bands are becoming increasingly popular in the gas and medical industry due to their ability to be hand-applied, making them ideal for heat-sensitive products like gas and flammable liquids. image

One common challenge in the gas industry is the need to easily identify full versus empty containers. In the healthcare industry, where the purity and integrity of medical gases such as oxygen are critical, Celon shrink bands offer valuable protection. They shield valves from dust and other contaminants during storage and transport, ensuring that the gases remain uncontaminated and meet health and safety standards. As the US distributor for Viscose Closures, our Celon shrink bands offer a simple yet effective visual solution, enhancing operational efficiency and safety.
